Chapter 212: What Silly Things Are You Saying?

Chapter 212: Chapter 212: What Silly Things Are You Saying?

Even though she’s a woman, she isn’t any uglier than Ivy Linden. She can give birth to several children without any issues, so why isn’t she as lucky as Ivy Linden? Why can’t she join a wealthy family like the Lockwoods?

Pamela Yancy didn’t used to be this jealous of Ivy Linden. There are plenty of women with good fortune; comparing oneself to others will drive you crazy.

However, recently Pamela Yancy has been brainwashed by Mrs. Lockwood’s complaints and sees Ivy Linden the same way Mrs. Lockwood does—displeased in every way. Especially because she agrees with Mrs. Lockwood that, as an upper-class family like the Lockwoods, having no grandson, no heir, is a tragedy.

Ivy Linden is the jinx causing this tragedy.

Ivana Monroe glanced at Pamela Yancy, who was indifferent. However, when Pamela felt Ivana’s slightly cold gaze, she suddenly shivered.

This woman is not someone to mess with.

"Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to speak?" Ivy Linden was already fed up with Mrs. Lockwood’s attitude in the hospital room. Now, she had to endure the attitude of a patient who has nothing to do with her; how can Ivy put up with this?

Ivy Linden exploded.

Seeing Ivy Linden provoked, Pamela Yancy laughed mockingly, ready to further provoke Ivy.

Suddenly, Ivana Monroe moved closer to Pamela Yancy and grasped her wrist.

Ivana wasn’t exceedingly strong, but Pamela felt a sense of fear: "What...what are you trying to do? Are you planning to hit someone in the hospital?"

Mrs. Yancy supported Pamela Yancy, and as Ivana approached, she hadn’t expected Ivana to directly grasp Pamela’s wrist. She shouted loudly, "Help! Someone is attacking a patient here~"

Mrs. Yancy was trying to frighten Ivana away, after all, Pamela has a bad leg, and if it came to physical confrontation, she’d be at a disadvantage against two women with no injuries.

Ivana was not intimidated by Mrs. Yancy’s shouting, she scoffed, "Call everyone over! I want everyone to judge who you think you are, standing here, insulting Ivy Linden?"

Upon hearing this, Pamela panicked and looked at Mrs. Yancy, "Mom, stop shouting."

Mrs. Yancy shut her mouth, her face a bit flushed, knowing her daughter had nothing to do with this, and she had told her daughter outside not to get involved with Ivy and her in-laws.

However, Pamela didn’t listen.

Pamela couldn’t directly meet Ivana Monroe’s eyes, thinking, is this woman a ghost? Why is her gaze so terrifying?

Pamela didn’t want to provoke Ivana, she said, "Let go."

Ivana coldly replied, "Apologize."

Pamela’s eyes widened, what? This woman is asking her to apologize? To apologize to Ivy Linden?

Pamela immediately retorted, "Impossible."

As soon as Pamela finished her sentence, Ivana harshly pulled her wrist, causing Pamela to widen her eyes in horror, looking at the stairs below. If Mrs. Yancy hadn’t pulled her in time, she feared Ivana would have dragged her down the stairs.

Pamela fell to the floor and felt intense pain in one knee, tears coming out of her eyes: "It hurts~"

Ivana’s actions scared Mrs. Yancy to death, she was distraught and hugged Pamela, shouting at Ivana, "You crazy woman, what do you want to do? Do you want to murder my little Pamela?"

Ivy Linden turned pale. Ivana’s pull just now scared her too. She feared something really happened to Pamela and Ivana would be in trouble. She didn’t want Ivana to get involved in any unfortunate mess because of her.

Ivana laughed again, the smile giving Mrs. Yancy a sinister feeling.

Ivana said, "I’m giving you one more chance, apologize to my friend, or else I’ll really kick you down from here."

Both Mrs. Yancy and Pamela gasped.

Pamela said through gritted teeth, "You wouldn’t dare, murder is against the law."

Ivana raised an eyebrow, "Who said I’m going to kill you? I just can’t stand you bullying my friend and want to kick you. Rolling down here, you won’t die, at most you’ll just have a head injury and a broken leg."

Pamela’s heart trembled, this woman is truly insane...completely insane.

Mrs. Yancy became afraid, she didn’t want her daughter to get hurt.

"Pamela, just apologize, you were wrong in the first place."

Finally some sensible words.

Ivana was very satisfied with Mrs. Yancy’s "understanding." She was now seething with anger and couldn’t vent to Ivy Linden. If this mother and daughter continued refusing to apologize, she would indeed kick them down the stairs.

At worst, she would pay compensation.

Ivana used to dislike Leon Keane’s words, but now she feels satisfied. Money can solve a lot of problems, can’t it?

Pamela’s eyes welled with tears; she was a woman with limited courage and didn’t dare to confront Ivana head-on.

"I’m sorry."

Ivy Linden paused for a moment, hearing this apology. Her eyes felt hot, she held back tears from falling, raising her chin proudly, "I will not forgive those who hurt me. Leave now."

Mrs. Yancy helped Pamela Yancy up, and as they left, she gave Ivana a look, saying, "If Pamela’s leg injury is serious, you won’t escape."

Ivana gave Mrs. Yancy a casual glance.

Ivy Linden lifted her hand to wipe away her tears and smiled through her tears, "Thank you, Ivana."

Ivana held Ivy Linden gently, saying tenderly, "Why say silly things?"

Beside the hospital, there are gifts for visiting patients. Ivana pulled Ivy Linden downstairs; they talked as they walked. Ivy didn’t say much about Mrs. Lockwood, just mentioned she might not be able to stay with Samuel Lockwood anymore. If she had nowhere to go, she’d want Ivana to take her in.

Although Ivy didn’t say anything, Ivana guessed a bit, it was certainly Mrs. Lockwood causing trouble again. She earnestly patted Ivy’s shoulder, "My home is always open for you."

Ivana bought some gifts since she was already at the hospital, and had been seen with Ivy Linden by Pamela and her mother. If she didn’t visit Mrs. Lockwood, she’d likely end up giving people a reason to talk.

Ivana wouldn’t care, but what about Ivy?

Ivy Linden has to face Mrs. Lockwood in the hospital every day, which is not easy.

"Ivana, it’s not necessary, you don’t know her well."

"I’ll do it for your sake."

Ivana sympathetically looked at Ivy Linden. How could she not understand Ivy’s feelings? Ivy disliked by Mrs. Lockwood, she, as Ivy’s friend, would also undoubtedly be disliked by Mrs. Lockwood once inside.

In the hospital room.

Mrs. Lockwood was complaining in front of everyone and her son, asking why Ivy hadn’t returned yet. If Ivy didn’t want to stay in the hospital, she should rest at home.

Samuel Lockwood looked displeased when he received his mother’s call and came over swiftly to find out from the second bed that his mother was thirsty and hadn’t had anyone to pour her water, Ivy often went missing at the hospital. His mood was terrible.

Ivy had promised him... she would take good care of Mom.

Pamela’s leg was fine, just got bruised. Seeing Samuel in the hospital room, her cheeks flushed: "Earlier... after I finished in the restroom, I saw your daughter-in-law chatting with another woman. They were talking very happily."
