Chapter 133: Grandma Is Back

Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Grandma Is Back

A4 paper?

"Miss Jennings, it’s better if you send the information via text message! A4 paper is too easily discovered." Auntie Chamberlain didn’t want A4 paper; why make it so complicated when it could be done over a text message?

Moreover, if President Kane or his mother found out, wouldn’t she be doomed?

"Texts are more easily found. Even if you delete them, they can be recovered. A4 paper is best. When you go to the bathroom, memorize it, tear it up and flush it down the toilet. That way, there’s no trace."

Kiki had been played by the Santana driver; she would never be so foolish again, and there’s no way she would let Auntie Chamberlain have leverage over her. The content on A4 was prepared and printed at home. Even if Auntie Chamberlain kept any, it wouldn’t be a future threat.

You never know with printed things. She could wash her hands of it cleanly.

"But, Miss Jennings, I’m too old for this, not a college student who can memorize it on the spot. The time in the bathroom is too short to memorize anything. Just text it to me! My phone is always with me; nobody can take it. Anyway, only you and I know about this. If we don’t speak, who could imagine it? Please, Miss Jennings, don’t make it difficult for an old woman like me."

Auntie Chamberlain felt Kiki was making a fuss over nothing, just to give her trouble. She could memorize from her phone anytime; if someone came, she could exit out of the message quickly. Carrying A4 paper would make her constantly anxious.

"Auntie Chamberlain." Kiki’s voice deepened, "If you don’t want to work, you don’t have to. You’re a valued elder to his mother; I won’t trouble you."

"But if you want money and to continue working, you must listen to me."

Kiki frowned, growing tired of those who wished to haggle with her. If you’re being paid, you need to follow orders. Don’t they understand such basic rules?

Auntie Chamberlain hesitated for three seconds, then compromised, "Fine, I’ll listen to Miss Jennings."

Once the call ended, a smile appeared on Kiki’s beautiful face. She opened her walk-in closet, where thousands of neatly arranged clothing styles glittered under the orange lighting. After half an hour, she found a satisfactory pink floral dress, paired with golden high heels, and she let her dark hair flow down her back. In the mirror stood a noble socialite.

Before the mirror, Kiki posed in various styles, purring with her red lips, "I’m so beautiful, and my family background is good. Leon and I are a perfect match, and no one can take Leon from me."

Kiki grabbed her pink handbag and went out; she needed to visit the second hospital.

All night until morning, Ivana Monroe hadn’t seen Leon again.

Had he left?

A sense of inexplicable loss washed over Ivana. Last night he had so confidently declared he would marry her, yet in the blink of an eye, he silently disappeared. Whatever a man says can’t be trusted, she thought.

Ivana curled her lips scornfully. It didn’t matter; she was already used to it and never really expected Leon to marry her.

A moment later, Timmy woke up.

The little boy awoke, rubbing his sleepy eyes, and looked around the room as if searching for Leon.

"Mommy, where’s Uncle Kane?"

"He had to leave for something. Are you hungry, Timmy? Mommy will go get you breakfast."

Ivana got up casually and said to the little boy.

The boy’s eyes flickered with loss. He shook his head. He wanted to say he wasn’t hungry, but just then, his stomach betrayed him with a series of growls.

He felt a bit embarrassed.

Ivana smiled gently, putting on her shoes, ready to go out, when there was a knock at the door.

Derrick Stern and Secretary Sullivan entered, carrying breakfast.

Seeing the two, Ivana was taken aback.

"Uncle Derrick, did Daddy ask you to bring us breakfast?" Timmy’s handsome little face lit up. He figured Daddy wouldn’t abandon them.

Derrick smiled, "Yes, indeed! Your big brother Ian fainted last night and was taken to the hospital. Before going to check on him, President Kane asked me and the guards to come and ensure you and your mom’s safety."

Secretary Sullivan glanced at Timmy’s charming face, her heart skipping. Timmy was unbelievably handsome, just like President Kane! In fact, she thought Timmy’s character seemed much better than Pres. Kane’s.

She adored Timmy’s smile, as it was extremely adorable and charming.

Ivana came to realization; so that was why he had left quietly, due to Ian.

"How’s Ian now? Is he awake yet?" Ivana couldn’t help but worry.

"How’s big brother Ian doing? Why did he faint?" Timmy asked eagerly.

Seeing both mother and son concern over Ian, Derrick and Secretary Sullivan placed the breakfast on the cabinet, smiling, "Ian’s awake and fine now."

"As for why he fainted, I’m not sure. You’d have to ask President Kane."

Secretary Sullivan opened the breakfast box, "Mrs. Monroe, Young Master Timmy, have some breakfast. President Kane is with Young Master Ian, so no need to worry too much."

Ravenswood Second Hospital.

Upon landing, the Kane family driver took his mother straight to Second Hospital, heading directly to Ian’s room, ignoring Leon sitting by the bed and Kiki standing nearby. She rushed forward to see her precious grandson.

"Is Ian awake? Is he feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Grandma’s back, tell me."

Her eyes were red-rimmed; she’d cried throughout the flight. Seeing Ian, her heart nearly shattered. Her immediate instinct was to envelop the dear boy into her embrace, but seeing his frail appearance, she refrained and shakily held his small hand instead.

"Grandma, I’m okay." Ian was somewhat surprised to see his grandmother’s whirlwind arrival.

"Yes, my sweet grandson." Her eyes brimmed again, touched by Ian’s resilience, almost bringing her to tears.

Releasing his hand, she gently stroked his head and, upon finding his forehead at a normal temperature, she felt somewhat relieved. No fever, fortunately. Ian’s fevers never subsided easily, lasting several continuous days with alarming high temperatures.

Once all checks were completed, Ian was cleared to leave the hospital.

Kiki, having stayed up all night, was on the brink of exhaustion. Still, to make a good impression before his mother, she forced herself to accompany her back to the Kane family residence.

"Mom, since Ian is alright, why don’t you head home first? I need to stop by the office," Leon suggested, thinking of Ivana and Timmy at the other hospital.

Kiki’s expression darkened instantly. What trip to the office? She didn’t believe it for a second. Leon wanted to visit those two wretched people at the other hospital, no doubt!
