Chapter 136: Chapter 136: She Is Not Allowed to Step Into the Kane Family
Before Leon could answer, his mother spat out harsh words: "I will never agree to it. I’ll die before I let that shameless woman step into the Kane family’s door for even half a step."
Upon hearing his mother call Ivana Monroe a shameless woman, Leon’s handsome face immediately darkened. "Mom, Ivana is the woman your son has chosen, and she is the mother of your grandson. I hope you can respect her."
Leon’s mother looked at him incredulously. Was he speaking to her in that tone for Ivana?
Leon’s mother couldn’t accept it, especially the phrase "the mother of your grandson." She didn’t believe Ivana was Ian’s biological mother but thought Leon meant Ivana would become Ian’s stepmother after marrying him.
"Rebellion, rebellion. For a woman like that, you speak to your mother like this?"
Before, he never spoke to her with such an attitude. He respected her, and he basically listened to what she said.
It was all because of Ivana’s appearance that her obedient son changed.
"I want to speak to you properly too, but Mom, the premise is that you should also speak properly. Insulting Ivana equals insulting your son."
Now that Leon’s mother knew about Ivana, Leon also made his attitude clear. He told his mother through actions that Ivana was the woman he was determined to marry.
When Leon’s mother saw his decisive and resolute black eyes and heard his unwavering words, she saw him regard Ivana as his own.
Leon’s mother’s mind was blown. She staggered back a few steps, her body shaking slightly, and the only feeling in her heart was a stabbing pain. This son seemed as if she had raised him for nothing. For a despicable woman, he criticized her and spoke to her as if she were a vulgar woman with a foul mouth.
"I speak rudely? That Ivana Monroe has the audacity to climb into your bed, shameless behavior. All the insulting words in this world aren’t excessive when used on her."
Leon’s mother spoke painfully: "Leon, everything I do is for your own good. Why can’t you understand your mother’s painstaking efforts? Marrying such a lowly woman is simply trouble, disgracing yourself and your mother, and more importantly, disgracing the Kane ancestors."
"Your father, your grandfather, and even your great-grandfather, all the men of the Kane family, if not marrying noble socialites, at least brought home decent women."
"Is Ivana decent? She has long been in bed with countless men. Leon, if you dare to marry her, I’ll crash into the Kane’s old mansion. It’s my failure to teach my son, and I’m sorry to the Kane ancestors."
Leon’s mother threatened with severity, heart trembling with anger, gasping heavily, her eyes glaring.
Leon furrowed his eyebrows, seeing his mother’s blood pressure skyrocketing. He went over to support her, not daring to provoke her further, and his palm rested on his mother’s chest, only to be swatted away.
"No need for your hypocrisy. You’re blinded by a vixen now, eager to anger me to death so you can be happy."
"Mom, please calm down. If you get sick from anger, Ian will be worried."
Leon had no way around his mother, so he had to mention Ian to soothe her emotions.
"Hmph, in this world, only Ian cares about this old woman. Ian is the most tender-hearted, unlike his heartless father who forgets his own mother at the sight of a vixen."
Leon’s mother’s eyes were red, deliberately taking a dig at Leon, even pounding on him angrily.
Leon laughed wryly, puffing out his chest to let his mother hit him: "If you feel more comfortable hitting me a few times, then hit me a few more times. But Mom, I want to find a suitable opportunity to bring Ivana to meet you."
After all, he was her son. No matter how angry Leon’s mother was, she couldn’t bear to hit him hard. She merely hit him symbolically a couple of times. Hearing Leon’s intention to bring Ivana over, Leon’s mother became furious again and wanted to refuse.
Leon seemed to anticipate her words, saying, "Don’t be in a hurry to refuse. I remember as a child you taught me: seeing is believing, hearing is deceiving. Everything should be judged by oneself, not by hearsay, because rumors are unreliable."
Leon’s mother listened to this and said nothing.
Leon continued: "Ivana is a wonderful person. I believe when you meet her, your current perception of her will change."
Inwardly, Leon’s mother scoffed. No matter how well Ivana pretended to behave in front of her, it wouldn’t matter. She knew what Ivana had done behind the scenes. Now daring to call Auntie Chamberlain and threaten her, if she entered the house, Ian would certainly be ruined beyond recognition.
Leon’s mother didn’t argue further or refuse Leon. She knew her son well; once he decided on something, almost no one could change his mind. Unable to change Leon.
Thus, she wanted to meet Ivana and make that shameless woman retreat.
After getting discharged, Ivana threw herself headfirst into work. The designers’ work from the company had all been completed and turned into clothes. She had only completed half and had to work overtime at night to finish the rest.
Jacobs started working at the company after Ivana was discharged, only then learning she had been in a car accident and stayed at the hospital for the past few days.
Seeing the scar on Ivana’s forehead, Jacobs’ eyes turned a little sour, feeling very distressed: "Ivana, why don’t you go home and rest? Anyway, there’s not much happening at the company in the next few days. If there’s anything major, I’ll call you immediately."
Ivana smiled and shook her head: "I’ve rested enough."
Seeing Ivana deeply engrossed in her work, Jacobs couldn’t say anything further, only watching over her with silent care.

Wellbright Kindergarten.
Timmy Monroe’s little face had completely healed. He carried his Minion backpack, walked into the classroom, and immediately saw a cold little figure sitting in his seat.
The little figure heard footsteps and raised his head, his dark eyes meeting Timmy Monroe’s gaze.
"Brother."
Timmy Monroe paused in surprise, then his handsome little face broke into a sunny smile. He eagerly greeted Ian Keane: "Good morning!"
Ian sprang up from his seat, and the few early-arriving children in the third class were startled by Ian’s sudden movement, shrinking back and covering their mouths, afraid to make any sound.
Ian walked coldly to Timmy Monroe, stretched out his little hand, grabbed Timmy Monroe’s chin, looked left and right, then lifted Timmy Monroe’s little hand and examined him from head to toe.
Timmy Monroe looked a little confused: "Brother, what are you looking for?"
Ian fumbled around on Timmy Monroe a couple of times. Dad was right; his little brother was indeed unhurt.
Ian didn’t answer Timmy Monroe but instead asked coldly: "How’s your mommy’s forehead? She didn’t damage her brain, did she?"
