Chapter 139: Chapter 139: We Have the Right to Sue You for False Accusation

The breakfast Silas bought was lavish, with nutritious porridge, meat and vegetable buns, tea eggs... enough for several people.

"Such a splendid breakfast, thank you, senior Silas." Ivana casually took three items from Silas’s hand, inserted a thick straw into the porridge, and handed it to Timmy.

"Thank you, Mommy. Thank you, Uncle Joyce." Timmy thanked politely.

The more Silas looked at Timmy, the more he liked him. This little boy was well-raised by Ivana, and he suddenly wished he could have a son as sensible as Timmy.

"Since you call me Uncle Joyce, no need to be so formal with me." Silas said gently to the little boy.

Silas looked at the remaining breakfast in his hand and offered it to Ivana: "I’ve already had breakfast. These are bought for you all. No need for formalities with me. Take them all! Pick what you like to eat."

Back in her university days, Ivana used to be a picky eater, but during her six years abroad, time molded her, making her more composed, and she learned not to be picky with food.

Sometimes, after experiencing deep pain, people reflect and change their bad habits, becoming better versions of themselves.

She should thank Zachary for teaching her such a painful and profound lesson that made her who she is today.

"Thank you, Uncle Joyce! Both Mommy and I are not picky; as long as there’s food to fill us up, it’s good! Uncle Joyce should put the leftover breakfast on the front passenger seat. It can be reheated if we get hungry at noon. Mommy always says we shouldn’t waste food!"

Timmy took a sip of the porridge, swallowing it down. His bright eyes looked at Silas, and his tender red lips made such sensible remarks.

Silas was surprised, staring at Timmy dumbfounded. This little face was simply a miniature version of Leon Keane. Reportedly, the young master of the Kane family... Ian Keane, was spoiled by his grandmother, with lavish feasts at every meal.

However, for Timmy to say such understanding words, it was clear that Timmy’s life was vastly different from Ian’s.

Silas suddenly felt a pang of sympathy. Samuel was right; Leon Keane wasn’t genuinely affectionate towards Ivana, nor had he given Ivana’s son even a tenth of the Kane family’s little prince’s treatment. If Leon had, six-year-old Timmy wouldn’t be so sensible and thrifty.

Silas thought of a classic saying: every sensible child is forced to be by life’s circumstances.

That’s probably how it was for Timmy!

"Alright, uncle will listen to you." Silas made a silent resolve to pursue Ivana, providing her with a warm refuge, and to care for this heartbreaking little boy. Since Leon Keane didn’t care, it would be up to him, Uncle Joyce!

Silas comes from a well-off family and is a star lawyer at Samuel’s company, earning millions annually, enough to provide a good life for Ivana and her son.

Timmy noticed Silas’s attentiveness towards Ivana. He just didn’t want this Uncle Joyce to draw too much of his mommy’s attention, not expecting Silas to overthink so much.

Silas drove Timmy to Wellbright Kindergarten, then headed to the courthouse.

He arrived at the courthouse fifteen minutes before nine o’clock.

The Young family showed up late. It wasn’t until the clock struck nine that Bella Young, supporting Old Madam Young, slowly walked into the courtroom.

Bella Young’s face changed upon seeing Silas as the defense lawyer. She was furious.

Back then, she first sought out Silas because he was the most competent lawyer, boasting a hundred percent success rate throughout his brilliant career.

The reason Silas rejected her was straightforward: he had too much work and was too busy to take on new cases.

Why did he have time to take Ivana’s case?

Bella was furious, secretly cursing Ivana for being shameless, thinking she must have sold her body to get Silas’s help. Otherwise, with no money, how could Ivana hire a star lawyer like Silas?

Ivana was only worth something due to her despicable face, her body must have been ruined by men already, and Silas was probably still in the dark!

"Honorable judge, good day..." The plaintiff’s lawyer started, recounting in detail how Timmy Monroe hit Franklin Young at the amusement park and how Franklin was discovered and sent to the hospital afterward. In conclusion, he presented evidence: "These are the surveillance videos showing the beating on that day at the amusement park, as well as the victim’s hospitalization records and invoices."

The plaintiff’s lawyer added: "The plaintiff demands the defendant pay a total of 1.3 million in medical expenses, emotional damages, nutritional costs, and work loss compensation.

Ivana’s mouth twitched; Bella Young dared to ask for a colossal 1.3 million? Was she crazy for money? Why not rob a bank?

Standing in the plaintiff’s position, Bella Young’s red lips curved slightly upon hearing the price the plaintiff’s lawyer stated, suppressing her inner glee. With this money, she could immediately fly abroad and enjoy herself at nightclubs first.

This time spent in the Young family, she had enough frustration.

The judge asked Silas, "Does the defense lawyer have anything to say?"

Silas, with a confident glow on his refined face, solemnly replied, "I object. What the plaintiff claims is not true; it contains elements of fraud."

The plaintiff’s lawyer felt stumped. Before the case started, Mrs. Lockwood... Ivy had called him, instructing him not to let Bella win the case.

Ivy also informed him about how Bella and her children bullied her family’s little princess at the amusement park.

Bully the boss’s daughter? Did Bella have a death wish?

The plaintiff’s lawyer was here just to quietly watch Bella lose the case disgracefully.

Bella, unaware of all this, was blissfully waiting to win the case and walk away with the money. Hearing Silas’s words, her heart tightened, and a chill ran through her scalp.

Could Silas know something? No way, impossible. Her foreign hospital proof and invoices were real. No matter how talented Silas was, he couldn’t win this.

Bella fumed angrily, "Silas, you slanderer! Watch out, or I’ll sue you for defamation."

Bella then looked at the plaintiff’s lawyer beside her. Seeing him silent, she glared at him.

The plaintiff’s lawyer had no intention of speaking. Being glared at by Bella, he had to put on an act, saying sternly, "Defense lawyer, please mind your words. Otherwise, we reserve the right to sue you for defamation."

Silas chuckled coldly, "We’ll see if it’s defamation once the judge hears this."

Silas took out a phone from his briefcase, a rose gold iPhone X, and, in front of the judge and everyone, inputted the password to unlock the phone...

Bella sneered disdainfully, "Silas, you think you can accuse me with a lousy phone? Never gonna happen..."
