Chapter 117: I’ll Listen to My Brother

Chapter 117: Chapter 117: I’ll Listen to My Brother

Leon Keane furrowed his brows, was that so? Ian would be too embarrassed to come out?

"Uncle Kane, I’m serious! If you and Mommy go downstairs now, I guarantee that within a few minutes, I’ll be able to convince my brother to come out of his room."

A few minutes? He could convince Ian to come out?

Leon glanced at the boy’s clear, bright eyes. For some reason, he instinctively chose to believe the boy.

"Alright."

Leon Keane and Ivana Monroe walked down the stairs. Timmy Monroe looked over the jade railing on the second floor, glancing down to ensure the two adults were on the first floor.

The little boy knocked on the door again, bringing his little mouth close to the door, and spoke softly with his tender voice: "Brother, brother, you should come out now! Uncle Kane and my Mommy have gone downstairs! You have the chance to come out now, and if you miss this opportunity, when Uncle Kane and my Mommy come back up, my Mommy might try to make you come out!"

"Also, be prepared, if my Mommy recognizes you..."

Before Timmy could finish his sentence, the door suddenly opened. It wasn’t the door in front of him but the one next door—Ian Keane’s room.

Timmy was surprised to see Ian Keane with a cold expression, pointing at him with his little finger, "Brother, why did you lock yourself in that room?"

Ian Keane pulled Timmy inside and closed the door again. This time, the sound of the door closing was much lighter, as if afraid of being heard by the two adults downstairs.

"Don’t let your Mommy into my room to see me."

Ian Keane’s cold little face revealed a hint of unnaturalness. When that woman arrived, he heard her voice. He felt very conflicted inside, inexplicably happy, wanting to open the door and take a look at that woman.

However, he thought about the expression that woman might have when she saw him. Would she realize that the little boy at her house a few days ago wasn’t her son?

Instinctively, Ian Keane didn’t want Ivana to know these things. He resisted inside, afraid of seeing a frown of disdain on her face.

Because he was not her biological son.

No one would like an imposter, staying by their side through deceit.

Timmy blinked his eyes: "If brother says no, then it’s no! I listen to brother."

Only then did Ian Keane’s cold little face soften a little, his eyes suddenly dimmed: "I’m fine, you and your Mommy can go back!"

Timmy saw his unlit eyes and forlorn look, wondering how he could believe that he was fine.

Timmy suddenly grabbed Ian Keane’s little hand. Ian seemed a bit resistant, wanting to pull his hand back. He coldly said to Timmy: "I told you, I’m fine. There’s no need for you to go out of your way to comfort me! There’s no need, understand?"

Timmy looked at Ian Keane. In his clear eyes, there was no sympathy, but he earnestly said to Ian Keane: "Brother, I know you are strong, you don’t need comfort. But I want to tell you, I am your brother, no matter what happens, I will always stand by your side. And my Mommy, as long as you are willing to accept her, you can also consider her your Mommy."

"Brother, having a shared Mommy together, isn’t that nice?"

Ian Keane froze. He looked at the boy’s serious and determined eyes. He was indeed his brother, but... Could he consider that woman his Mommy too?

Ian suddenly thought of what Grandma Kane said, pushing Timmy away with force, his expression pained, his little face fierce: "I don’t need your Mommy. Get out... All of you get out. I never want to see you and that woman again..."

He was a child abandoned by his own mom, and even his real mom didn’t want him, let alone a stepmom? He didn’t need Timmy’s pity, nor did he need the hypocritical care of a stepmom.

That woman only gave him selfless maternal love because she thought of him as Timmy, all of which was an illusion, a lie. Now that he was back in the Kane family, becoming the young master of the Kane family, all those illusions were over.

Leon and Ivana waited downstairs for about ten minutes, but Timmy wasn’t able to convince Ian to come out. He heard a low roar from the room upstairs, though subdued, he still heard it.

"Ian."

Leon said in a low voice, not explaining to Ivana, and turned to run upstairs.

Ivana followed Leon up to the second floor. She didn’t know what was happening. She saw Leon opening a door and running in, so she followed him inside too.

"Ian, what are you doing?"

Ivana heard Leon’s angry voice as soon as she entered, protecting a little boy in his arms.

The room was dim since the lights were off, and Ivana didn’t see clearly which boy Leon was protecting. She saw another boy’s handsome little face contorted in pain.

Her heart trembled. She rushed over to embrace the boy, holding him in her arms: "Baby, what’s wrong? Mommy is here, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid..."

In Ivana’s arms, Ian slowly calmed down.

His little face pressed against the warm embrace of the woman, inhaling her familiar scent. Ian suddenly felt like crying, biting his thin lip to hold it back.

He didn’t want to embarrass himself that much in front of this woman.

Ivana wholeheartedly comforted her "son," not noticing Timmy in Leon’s arms. When she had calmed Ian, she looked at Leon and saw that the boy in his arms had a white, tender little hand that was injured, bitten to the point of breaking the skin, with fresh blood oozing out.

Ivana was startled, instinctively thinking the child in her arms did the biting, just about to admonish him to apologize, she realized the boy in Leon’s arms was her beloved Timmy.

Then the boy in her arms was... Ian Keane?

Leon saw Ian calming down in Ivana’s embrace. He was shocked for a moment. Ian was naturally averse to others, but when he first met Ivana, he wasn’t repulsed at all, even instinctively accepting her. This had to be the effect of a mother-son connection.

Leon decided to marry Ivana. Only she could completely cure Ian’s autism.

"I’m sorry, Ivana, Ian hurt Timmy. I apologize for him to Timmy." Leon gave Ivana an apologetic look. Ian was just getting better, so for personal reasons, he didn’t want to upset Ian.

But Timmy was also his son. Timmy being hurt, he felt heartache too.

"Uncle Kane, don’t say that. It’s Timmy’s fault; Timmy was the one who provoked brother first. Timmy doesn’t blame brother."

Timmy took all the fault onto himself. He didn’t want Mommy to have any prejudice against brother because of this incident.

Leon gave Timmy a grateful look.
