Chapter 116: Mommy Is Here

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Mommy Is Here

Ivana Monroe and Timmy Monroe ascended the spiral staircase, seeing Leon Keane’s handsome face tense, brows furrowed, his dark eyes filled with deep worry, like a knot that couldn’t be undone.

She was startled; Leon Keane was a top-tier figure in Ravenswood. If his child fell ill, he could afford the best experts and the most advanced medical treatments in the world.

If even he was helpless, it was evident that the child’s illness was exceptionally difficult to treat.

Ivana recalled what Timmy had said at home, that his "brother" had locked himself in his room again. Could it be that Leon Keane’s son had... autism?

"Sorry to trouble you to come quickly with Timmy at this time," Leon Keane’s voice was low, carrying a sense of powerless fatigue, as he looked deeply at Ivana Monroe.

He was so polite and gentlemanly that Ivana felt a bit uncomfortable.

"It’s okay; the child is important." She, being a mother, could understand Leon Keane’s current mood.

Kiki Jennings clenched her fingers tightly, her nails digging into her palm. That fake woman wasn’t here out of kindness; she was just pretending, aiming to seduce Leon Keane.

Kiki inwardly cursed Ivana as a manipulative hussy.

"President Kane, young master Ian has always resisted women from outside. Do you remember the last time? What did young master Ian say to you after he came out? Auntie Chamberlain means no harm; she’s just very concerned about young master Ian and fears that if he knows other women are here, he’ll become emotionally agitated. For young master Ian’s sake, maybe this lady should go downstairs and wait outside for now!"

Auntie Chamberlain disliked Timmy and Ivana immensely. In her heart, she had sentenced both mother and son to death and would use any means necessary to expel them from the Kane family.

Auntie Chamberlain even felt that Ivana and Timmy were unworthy of stepping into the Kane’s old mansion; their dirty feet would only sully the luxurious imported tiles.

"Shut up, you don’t have the right to drive my mommy out." Timmy glared angrily at Auntie Chamberlain.

Seeing Timmy infuriated Auntie Chamberlain, she wanted to slap this rude child to death.

Moreover, if it weren’t for this brat inciting young master Ian, he wouldn’t have been tormenting her like he had lately, exhausting her like a dog.

"Leon, this little boy is so fierce!" Kiki Jennings exclaimed, her pupils contracting sharply upon seeing Timmy. Auntie Chamberlain was right; the brat she saw outside Wellbright Kindergarten last time was indeed him.

She had mistakenly thought the brat was Ian.

If she had known back then that he was Ivana’s brat, she would have given him a proper lesson.

The more Kiki looked at Timmy’s face, identical to Ian’s, the more she wanted to tear it apart. Her jealousy was driving her mad; this brat didn’t deserve to have the same face as Ian.

Timmy’s handsome little face suddenly turned towards Kiki. He furrowed his little brows, having no good impression of this girl and feeling she was too fake.

A girl so much older than him, yet pretending to be scared by a six-year-old? Clearly an act.

"Auntie Chamberlain, there’s no need for you here now. Take Kiki downstairs," Leon Keane said, uninterested in Kiki. Her pretended innocence was nothing compared to his own son.

He was displeased with Kiki calling Timmy fierce and was also against her staying here as it would interfere with Timmy trying to persuade Ian.

"Leon..." Kiki looked at Leon Keane with disbelief, her pure and sweet face seemingly hurt. This expression could be lethal for boys experiencing young love.

But Leon Keane was no young lad; he was a father of two six-year-old kids.

Leon Keane’s cold face allowed no argument.

"Miss Kiki, you should understand President Kane; he’s very worried about young master Ian now. Please follow his words and come downstairs with me!" Auntie Chamberlain, aware of Leon Keane’s temper, didn’t dare defy his orders and pulled Kiki’s arm, persuading her.

Kiki bit her lip. Seeing Leon Keane’s indifferent face, she let out an "okay" as tears began to uncontrollably fall when she followed Auntie Chamberlain downstairs.

Auntie Chamberlain took Kiki into her room.

Kiki could no longer hold back and cried: "Leon has changed. He wasn’t like this before; he used to treat me so well, never ignoring or being cold to me."

Auntie Chamberlain handed Kiki some tissues, shedding a few tears herself as if sympathetic: "Miss Kiki, don’t be too upset. It’s not President Kane who’s changed; it’s because there’s a hussy around him. Haven’t you noticed President Kane’s gaze always lingering on that woman, Ivana?"

"Miss Kiki, Auntie Chamberlain understands you because ever since Ivana and her brat arrived, young master Ian’s attitude toward me has changed too. He listens to that brat Timmy’s instigations and torments me in every way. Boo-hoo... "

Kiki wiped her tears and fixed her reddened eyes with a cold glare: "We can’t sit by idly. I must think of a way to reveal Ivana’s true colors so Leon can see what kind of person she is."

Auntie Chamberlain stopped crying, looking at Kiki with tearful eyes, feeling excited: "Miss Kiki, do you have a good plan?"

Kiki coldly smiled, not revealing anything to Auntie Chamberlain. She picked up a tissue and wiped Auntie Chamberlain’s tears, pretending to care: "Auntie, don’t be upset. Once I get rid of Ivana, her brat will be next. That brat will never again have the chance to cause strife between you and Ian."

Auntie Chamberlain was greatly moved: "Miss Kiki, if that day truly comes, I would be so thankful to you."

On the second floor.

Timmy knocked softly on the door: "Brother, are you in there? Timmy is here; will you come out and play with Timmy?"

There was no sound from inside, as quiet as if no one were there.

Timmy continued: "Brother, Timmy came to play with you, and you’re not coming out. Can you bear to leave Timmy outside?"

Still, there was no response from inside the room.

Timmy tried saying several more things to persuade Ian Keane, but it was like a stone sinking into the sea, not triggering any response from Ian.

Leon Keane’s handsome face grew increasingly somber; could it be ineffective this time?

If even Timmy couldn’t persuade Ian to come out of the room, Ian’s condition might have worsened.

Ivana Monroe noticed Leon Keane’s increasingly somber expression. She wanted to comfort him, but the words wouldn’t come out, for she felt that anything she might say would be weak and powerless to him.

Who could remain calm if their own son was trapped in the throes of autism?

"Uncle Kane, maybe you and mommy should go downstairs? It might be because you’re here that my brother hesitates to come out," Timmy’s innocent voice addressed Leon Keane.
