Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Damn, That’s So Overbearing?
The recording at Studio Three has ended.
Leon Keane came over but didn’t see anyone. He asked the staff inside, but no one knew where Ivana Monroe had gone.
Leon Keane stood outside Studio Three, dialing Ivana Monroe’s phone as he walked.
As he passed a van, he heard a familiar ringtone.
Leon Keane paused, his gaze deep as he looked at the van, its body painted a dark blue, bulky and clumsy in appearance, clearly belonging to some male celebrity.
Why would Ivana Monroe be in there?
Leon Keane furrowed his handsome brows and turned to walk toward the car door.
Hospital.
Darius Jennings dialed multiple times, but all he got was the mechanical female voice on the phone: "The number you are calling is temporarily unavailable."
Darius Jennings suddenly had a bad feeling in his heart.
Kiki Jennings lay on the hospital bed and saw Darius Jennings walk in with a dark face. She sensed something was wrong and asked in a soft voice, "Daddy, what did Leon say?"
Darius Jennings shook his head: "I couldn’t get through. Maybe he’s busy with something important!"
Kiki’s heart tightened. Is that really so? Could Leon be so busy that he doesn’t even have time to answer the phone? But Daddy is Leon’s senior!
No matter how busy Leon is, he should answer the phone.
Kiki felt terribly annoyed, thinking about Leon Keane’s attitude towards her at the Kane Group just now, drastically different from before, making her more and more uneasy.
Darius Jennings was also frustrated, seeing Kiki’s eyes dart around as if she had a guilty conscience.
Darius Jennings frowned and suddenly asked, "Kylie, you haven’t offended Leon recently, have you?"
Kiki was taken aback, denying it immediately without even thinking, "How could that be possible? I don’t even have enough time to love Leon; how would I offend him?"
Kiki denied it too quickly, as if trying hard to hide something.
Having lived this long and dominated the business world for so many years, how could Darius Jennings not see through it?
Darius Jennings said in a stern voice, "Kylie, I am your father; I don’t want you to lie to me."
Kiki didn’t want to lie to Darius Jennings either!
But could she tell Darius Jennings about offending Leon Keane?
She absolutely couldn’t, right?
If she did, her image as an innocent and naive girl in front of Daddy would fall apart, and Daddy would think she was a malicious girl.
Kiki suddenly complained, "Daddy, do you wish for me to offend Leon that much? Fine! I’ll go offend him right now! I won’t be nice to him anymore."
Seeing Kiki become agitated and about to have a confrontation with Leon Keane, Darius Jennings immediately tried to calm things down.
Oh my little princess! The one person we cannot offend right now is Leon Keane!
If we do, the entire Jennings Group will collapse.
Darius Jennings raised a hand to soothe Kiki: "Kylie, calm down. Daddy was wrong, Daddy was wrong. You and Leon Keane need to get along well, don’t fuss over trivial matters. Men like gentle, virtuous women. You have to be smart enough to always hold Leon Keane’s heart. With the crisis at Jennings Group now, all of Daddy’s hopes are on you!"
Darius Jennings pleaded earnestly.
The more Kiki listened, the more annoyed she became. Ivana Monroe didn’t seem gentle or virtuous at all. She always gave Leon a hard time, yet Leon still favored Ivana Monroe.
She herself was gentle, smart, and virtuous.
And yet?
Leon just doesn’t respond to her, but insists on someone like Ivana Monroe.
Kiki felt the heavens were so unfair.
Kiki sulked inwardly, her eyes turning slightly red, "I get it, Daddy."
Darius Jennings saw Kiki’s eyes redden, thinking his words might have been too harsh, forcing her to swallow her pride. He felt guilty and lightly patted Kiki’s shoulder, sighing, "Kylie, it’s Daddy’s fault; I’m the useless one. If Daddy were competent enough, I wouldn’t make you humble yourself to ask Leon Keane for help for the Jennings Group."
Tears slipped from Kiki’s eyes: "Daddy, don’t say that. Kylie is also part of the Jennings Group. Now that there’s a crisis, Kylie has the responsibility to help the Jennings Group through tough times."
The Jennings Group was in crisis, and Darius Jennings stopped giving her money.
These kinds of days were unlivable for Kiki.
Even for the money, she had to find a way to get Leon Keane to help her.
Besides, as long as she succeeded, she could marry Leon Keane and become the richest lady of The Kanes.
This was Kiki’s dream. Since childhood, she loved anything shiny and noble, daydreaming about lying in a diamond-studded bathtub someday, bathing in the world’s most luxurious chocolate milk.
Papa couldn’t help her realize this dream, only Leon Keane had that kind of financial power.
Kiki sank into her self-made fantasy, slowly raising her lips, her eyes shining with the glow of wealth.

"Calyx Television," in the van.
Ivana Monroe signed the contract and happily reached a cooperative agreement with Sean Vaughn, preparing to get off the van.
The van’s door suddenly made a noise.
Someone outside was pulling the door open.
The four people inside the car turned their heads simultaneously; Sean Vaughn’s face showed a chill. This was his private car, and having someone open it without permission was a sign of great disrespect.
When the four saw Leon Keane’s unmatched handsome face, emanating an aura of authority.
The four had varied expressions.
Ivana Monroe was stunned: How did Leon Keane come here? Suddenly, she thought of the ringing phone earlier when she was signing the contract. She hadn’t answered, and by the time she finished, the call had ended.
Could it have been Leon Keane calling just now?
Ivana Monroe noticed the coldness in Leon Keane’s dark eyes, and suddenly felt a chill up her spine.
Isaac Heston frowned: Leon Keane? Why are you looking at me with a murderous gaze? There were four people in Sean Vaughn’s car, and although I was sitting with Ivana Monroe, nothing untoward happened. Is the killer look necessary?
Jealous!
Director Arnold was shocked: Isn’t that the President of Kane Group, Leon Keane? Why would he show up here? President Keane, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Director Arnold.
Sean Vaughn was the most straightforward, his displeasure disappearing upon seeing Leon Keane: "I know you, you’re the President of Kane Group. Are you here at Calyx Television for a show? The recording studio is ahead."
Sean Vaughn kindly pointed the way for Leon Keane.
Leon Keane ignored him, stepping into the van, towering above Isaac Heston seated next to Ivana Monroe: "Are you going to move? Or shall I throw you out?"
Sean Vaughn and Director Arnold were dumbfounded: Damn, so overbearing?
Isaac Heston rubbed his nose: "There’s no need for President Keane to do it himself. I’ll move."
Being thrown out would be too embarrassing.
Isaac Heston absolutely wouldn’t admit he couldn’t beat Leon Keane; it was just to save face for Leon Keane.
After all, Leon Keane was the President of Kane Group.
Yes, that’s it.
Isaac Heston moved aside, thinking Leon Keane would take Ivana Monroe away.
Who would have guessed, Leon Keane sat down next to Ivana Monroe, his gaze landing on the contract on the table that hadn’t been put away yet, and he reached out his slender fingers to pick it up.
