Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Underground, Dissection Room, Bound Demon

As Lor carefully examined the Abyss experiment task invitation, Bruno simultaneously introduced:

"The Abyss experiment task is a universal task, modeled after the ’Nature’ classification, named ’Abyss’ classification, which was devised by Representative Ron."

"Of course, unlike ’Nature,’ research wizards no longer need to spend contribution points to browse its ’outcomes’ or ’speculations,’ this is paid in full by the Wizard Tower."

"Moreover, the results published in ’Abyss’ can be seen by research wizards from all Wizard Towers across the continent."

"A very creative idea." Lor nodded in agreement, then asked, "So who is responsible for determining the pricing of research outcomes? Is there a complete scheme?"

This was his primary concern as it determined how many contribution points he could earn after proposing a research direction.

"There is one," Bruno answered, "The evaluation of ’outcomes’ and ’speculations’ is initially handled by the holders of first-class laboratories at the Beitun Wizard Tower."

"Later, if other wizards achieve greater results based on your outcomes or speculations, you will receive 50% of the contribution points that wizard gained."

"Of course, this 50% is given separately, not deducted from the contribution points that wizard gained."

The two engaged in a question-and-answer dialogue and soon reached the edge of a straight descent into an abyss.

Lor surveyed around, finding countless magic lamps placed around the entrance, illuminating it brightly, yet it was still bottomless.

Moreover, the deeper it goes, the larger the cavern becomes.

Lor extended his Spiritual Power into his Sea of Consciousness, activating the Meteor Technique Perception Module, and probed downward, delving nearly two thousand miles before sensing a vast underground plaza.

The plaza was enormous, Lor’s perception couldn’t even reach the boundaries.

The underground plaza was covered in basic earth-colored runes and magic lamps on both the ground and walls, mysterious yet brightly lit.

In one of the plaza areas Lor could perceive, there were three massive portals, each nearly three hundred miles wide and high.

There stood some wizards amidst the plaza, as well as demons bound by rune chains.

"Here we are."

Bruno cast a Flying Technique on himself, flew to the center of the cavern, looked at Lor, and said, "Please follow me."

"Alright." Lor nodded, his Spiritual Power activating the Flying Technique rune model in his Sea of Consciousness, and followed Bruno deeper into the cavern.

"Roar — Ong — Ah —"

As they drew closer to the underground plaza, the howls and roars of demons gradually reached their ears.

Moments later, Bruno stopped two hundred miles above the plaza ground, gesturing in a circle around the closest portals, he said:

"Meteor Mage, these dissection rooms are not yet selected by any experimental wizard, you can choose any one you like."

"That one will do." Lor casually pointed to a portal slightly to his left.

"Alright." Bruno nodded, suddenly having a two-colored red and green Crystal Ball in his hand, flew towards the portal Lor had designated.

Once in the middle of the portal, he inputted some Elemental Energy into the Crystal Ball, then pressed the faintly sparkling Crystal Ball onto the giant portal.

"Creak, creak, creak, creak —"

The giant door slowly opened, making quite a noise.

A gigantic room three hundred miles high, two hundred miles wide, and two hundred miles long appeared before them.

Some wizards in the plaza, observing the live demons, turned their Spiritual Perception towards them upon hearing the commotion.

"Why would someone come now? How could there be a newcomer at this time?" a curious wizard asked.

Logically, experimental wizards should have come down two years ago.

They’ve been at war ever since, there shouldn’t be any inexplicable rising stars!

"I don’t know, does anyone recognize the young man next to the representative?"

"I don’t know him."

"I don’t know him either."

"Why care about that? Hurry and pick your demon, if you don’t choose quickly, someone else will."

Wizards with first-class laboratories can freely apply for demon research, while those with only second or third-class laboratories don’t have this benefit.

They usually wait in the plaza, waiting for their desired demon to be transported in, eager to brand it and bring it into their laboratories.

A fresh batch of demons had just been delivered, it was the right time to pick.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Bruno handed the Crystal Ball to Lor, then pointed at the hundred and twenty-mile long and wide stone table in the center of the room, covered in runes, and said:

"That’s the dissection table, when you wish to dissect a demon, just place it on the table, and it will be fully restrained."

"Demons placed on the table can only emit strange noises without being able to cause you any disturbance."

After explaining, Bruno paused and pointed to the corner on the right side of the room again, "There are some rather useful magic artifact tools there, you can take as you please."

At the corner Bruno pointed to, over a hundred strangely shaped tools were neatly arranged.

These tools ranged from nearly ten miles in size to as small as a palm, varying widely.

"It’s really big." Lor glanced around, finding it somewhat novel.

In fact, he had no sense of the space’s size here.

But the ancient and rugged design truly refreshed him.

"Having enough space to arrange various important organs during dissection is extremely important."

Bruno smiled, then flew to the innermost corner on the right side of the dissection room, pointing to a three-meter high small door in front, and said, "This is the bedroom, quite soundproof, you won’t have to worry about being disturbed while resting or meditating inside."

"Alright, I understand the general situation." Lor nodded, "You can go ahead with your work, no need to accompany me further."

As a representative legislator, Bruno had a lot more to do each day than Lor, the idle one.

If he kept troubling him, it would be quite discourteous.

"Alright, Meteor Mage, feel free to reach me if you need anything, I’ll leave now." Bruno responded, without lingering further, he indeed had many things to attend to.

After farewelling Bruno, Lor took out the Continent Communication Device and began browsing the newly launched ’Abyss’ section.

Before publishing any outcomes, he needed to study and understand all things related to the Abyss.

Only this way, he wouldn’t be out of his depth in the future.

[Eye Demon: The structure of the eye and brain, reasons for its intelligence surpassing other Abyssal Demons.]

[Eye Demon: In-depth analysis of energy circulation within the eye, systematic cultivation system mapping.]

[Bone Demon: The formation principles of the outer bones, methods for selectively disassembling the outer bones without damaging other parts.]

[Winged Demon: Detailed structure of the wings, extraction of basic Abyssal Energy runes.]

[Horned Demon: In conditions of prolonged extreme pain, the horn of the Horned Demon will...]

One paper after another, Lor meticulously read and studied.

Whenever he found an interesting paper, he would make a note, planning to replicate it someday.
