The Ink Falls on the Other Shore Flower

Chapter 103: Verification

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Verification

Time flew by, and a month had passed.

In the basement level of the Cooper Wizard Tower, inside Lor’s dissection room.

"Roar—howl—"

An Eye Demon was restrained on the stone platform in the center of the dissection room, emitting intimidating roars.

On its body, chains of red and green runes were tightly wrapped around it, making it impossible to move a muscle.

Above the eyeball of this Eye Demon, Lor, with a stern expression, held a needle-like Magic Artifact about five miles long, as thin as a cow’s hair, and slowly pierced it into its eye.

"Aaaah—"

The Eye Demon let out a piercing scream.

Lor was indifferent, and the needle-like Magic Artifact in his hand continued to penetrate the Eye Demon’s eye at a steady pace.

After a minute, he fully inserted the needle-like Magic Artifact into the Eye Demon’s eye and twisted it hard.

"Crack—aaaah—"

The sound of the eyeball shattering accompanied the Eye Demon’s screams, echoing together.

Seizing this opportunity, Lor’s Spiritual Power subtly moved, slightly adjusting the altar beneath the Eye Demon.

The rune chains that originally bound the Eye Demon tightly suddenly disappeared by half.

Dense Abyssal Energy began to converge before the Eye Demon’s eyes.

Lor agitated the needle-like Magic Artifact again.

The Abyssal Energy before the Eye Demon immediately scattered, while a trace of incomplete red light flashed across the center of the Abyssal Energy.

"There’s still only this little remnant structure." Lor sighed, "This thing is truly hard to collect."

He lightly tapped the needle-like Magic Artifact in his hand, turning it into a small needle one meter long, and then used Spiritual Power to adjust the altar.

The rune chains returned to their original state, and the Eye Demon was once again tightly bound by the rune chains.

From half a month ago, he began applying for various demons to attempt what he was doing today.

The sole purpose was to see if he could obtain that basic rune by himself.

If he really had hope of obtaining it, then he could take all the contribution point rewards by himself.

The result was evident; he had failed miserably.

"The fragments of the Abyssal Energy Rune manifested by a single demon are too scarce, with the possibility of repetition."

Lor pondered, "If I work on it alone, it would take at least fifty years just to have some hope of collecting it all. By then, it would be too late."

"I can only wait and propose a hypothesis and incomplete runes a year later, share some contribution points."

Having made up his mind, he no longer dwelled on it, flew to the corner of the dissection room, and threw the small needle in his hand into a pile of Magic Artifacts.

Then he took out a one-meter-long knife from the pile and flew back to the Eye Demon’s face.

He planned to utilize the waste, dissect this Eye Demon, and further engrain Knowledge points referenced from records in the ’Abyss’.

...

Ten months passed quietly amid Lor’s intermittent dissections and studies.

"It’s about time." In the dissection room, Lor summoned the Fire Element from his Sea of Consciousness and burned away the bloodstains on his hand.

Without paying any more attention to the Winged Demon dismembered behind him, he flew towards his bedroom.

Sitting on the bed, Lor held the Continent Communication Device, and painstakingly expanded what should have been a 300-word hypothesis into over 10,000 words, then sent it.

This time he wasn’t trying to conceal anything; it was purely because only by doing so could people promptly notice this hypothesis and attempt it.

If just one or two people noticed, they wouldn’t be able to complete such a massive workload in a short amount of time.

"I wonder how many contribution points this hypothesis of mine will eventually earn me?" Lor lowered his eyes to look at the Continent Communication Device, a hint of expectation flashing in his eyes.

Currently, he still had a large shortfall of contribution points needed to ascend to the Third Ring.

Through years of constant training and enhancement, he managed to reach a Spiritual Power of 4500.

As for contribution points, he still had 32.75 million left.

Among which, 10 million were compensation for using up five Fourth Ring Guardian Scrolls, as those stationed Wizards were generous people.

If he were to convert all these contribution points into Divine Power Crystals to boost his Spiritual Power, he could increase it by 2456 points.

Altogether, the Spiritual Power gap was 3050 points, needing 40 million contribution points to fill.

Apart from that, after becoming a Third Ring, he also had to upgrade the Limit-Breaking Witchcraft, which would require a hefty sum of contribution points.

"I hope Ron isn’t too stingy, and can give me a billion contribution points." Lor mused.

With a billion contribution points, it would be enough for him, at least for now.

...

In the center of the Betula Continent, on the 89th floor of a towering green Wizard Tower.

Three Third Ring Wizards dressed in green Wizard Robes sat around a long table, each manipulating a Continent Communication Board.

"Hey, this hypothesis seems a bit interesting!" A stunning female Wizard with full golden hair tapped the communication board, projecting a light screen.

The elderly and middle-aged Wizards sitting beside her heard this and both looked up at the light screen.

"Analyzing the essence of Abyssal Energy through a special basic rune?" The middle-aged Wizard frowned, "Could it be someone is just bluffing?"

Over the years, they had discovered a heap of Abyssal Runes.

But none dared claim they could analyze the essence of Abyssal Energy.

"Whether it’s bluffing or not, can’t you just take a look and find out?" The female Wizard rolled her eyes, directly forwarding the hypothesis to the middle-aged Wizard.

"Analyzing the essence of Abyssal Energy?"

The elderly Wizard’s eyebrows raised, a keen interest flashed in his eyes, "It does seem interesting, Alicia, send this hypothesis to me as well."

If this hypothesis proved practical, he wouldn’t mind offering a generous estimate.

But if it was nonsense, he would choose to block this research Wizard for three years.

Knowledge demands earnest attention; nonsense serves no purpose beyond attracting attention.

"Alright." Alicia nodded, sending another copy of the hypothesis to the old Wizard.

Then she stopped paying attention to the ceaselessly ringing Continent Communication Device, quietly observing the two of them.

A moment later, the middle-aged Wizard looked up, a serious expression on his face, "I think we need to conduct a few experiments to verify it."

"I agree." The old Wizard had just finished reading, nodding approvingly.

The hypothesis formulated by the Wizard named Lor had thoroughly covered the rune, even conducting preliminary experiments to verify it, resulting in several incomplete basic rune fragments.

Due to the overwhelming workload, it couldn’t be completed by one person alone, which was why this ’result’ was shared as a hypothesis with them.

Now, by conducting a few verifications, they could confirm whether this ’result’ was accurate.

Given the complexity of extracting the Abyssal Rune, its essence couldn’t be simple.

Perhaps, as the Wizard named Lor speculated, it was a special basic rune analyzing the essence of Abyssal Energy.

If this conjecture held true, its impact on Betula Continent would be enormous.

Beitun Wizard Tower, basement level one.

Three Great Wizards each selected a demon in the plaza and entered different dissection rooms.
