While their team was on the way back to the base, Mo Junjie finally got the test result. He stretched his tired muscles and pinched the bridge of his nose before he took the documents and left the laboratory.
When the staff saw him leaving, they greeted him and continued their work. It was common for them to spend days inside the laboratory during their research or experiments, so no one said a word when they saw him spend more than two days in the lab.
Soon after he left, the guard informed Wen Hanli. In the past two days, Mo Junjie only took a break when he needed to eat or go to the toilet. Besides that, he only slept for two to three hours every day.
Before he returned to his house, Mo Junjie went to the central ring area. Forty minutes later, he arrived at the central office building.
Instead of going to his office, he handed the documents to the staff in the lobby and said, "Comrade, this is the document Vice Commander Wen wants."
The staff glanced at the emblem on his collar and replied with a smile, "Comrade, I will inform the Vice Commander. Please wait a moment."

Fifteen minutes later, he heard a knock on the door and raised his head. "Come in."
Opening the door, Qin Luzi and Wang He entered the office together. After Wang He gave him a salute, Wen Hanli gestured for them to take a seat and handed a folder to them. "This is the report from Mo Junjie. Take a look."
When they heard this, both of them exchanged glances and took turns reading the documents. Five minutes later, Qin Luzi closed the folder and placed it on the table.
"It seems that our worst prediction has come true," he said with a frown.
"Since the zombie virus was not found in the corpses, we have to expand our search area," Wang He said.
"Wang He, your team will assist Comrade Qin and expand the search area. Besides the residential complex, search the safe perimeter outside the base, too," Wen Hanli said after a moment of silence.
"Understood," Wang He nodded.
Qin Luzi thought for a moment and said, "Vice Commander Wen, it will be difficult if the base depends only on us to search for the source of the zombified maggots."

He took out a glass tube and tweezers from his pocket. Using the tweezers, he picked up the zombie maggot and put it inside the glass tube before sealing it.
Afterward, he bent his knees and leaped up. Standing on top of the wall, his eyes turned cold when his gaze landed on the scattered parts of human bodies on the ground.
