Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Not the Sharpest Tool in the Shed
Yuna Hughes was left on the side, wearing a sullen expression and looking quite upset.
She couldn’t understand what kind of charm this Nora Northwood had that made her senior so special towards her.
Nora pretended not to notice Yuna’s gaze and walked next to Vincent Morgan, following him to the main hall.
"Vivian, let me introduce you to..."
"Vivian, long time no see! I didn’t expect we’d be so lucky to meet here." Yuna cheerfully ran over to greet Vivian.
Honestly, Vivian was quite confused about what Yuna was up to with her commotion.
She admired the master and maintained a good relationship with the Morgan Family, but as for Yuna, they were mere acquaintances who nodded in passing.
Her expression was a bit awkward, yet she couldn’t embarrass Yuna in public.
"Ah, yes." She nodded awkwardly, using her eyes to ask Vincent what was going on.
Vincent’s face was unpleasant, and although he was usually famous for his good temper, he couldn’t hold it in at this moment.
Without caring whether Yuna would feel embarrassed, he directly pulled her aside.
"Have you caused enough trouble? How much more do you want to embarrass our master?" he asked in a deep voice.
In the past, out of respect for their master, he never minded, but now he couldn’t let it slide.
"Senior, you..."
"What about me? Didn’t I warn you not to disturb my life? Do you think the Morgan Family won’t do anything to you?"
This wasn’t the first time Vincent had gotten angry at her, but it was the first time he did so publicly.
Yuna felt wronged by his words, pointing tearfully at Nora.
"Is it because of this bitch? Senior, you weren’t like this before. Why take her to the banquet instead of me? Aren’t we the closest?"
She was almost driven mad by jealousy, wondering what was so good about that woman.
Her rationality burnt away, she even forgot that apart from being her senior, he was also the heir of the Morgan Family.
Such insensitive actions would only push Vincent further away.
Nora realized the trouble was coming her way, looking at Vincent in confusion.
"What does this mean?" She and Vincent had a clear relationship, so how did it turn into something ambiguous?
"Sorry, she’s not thinking straight."
Vincent rubbed his temples, realizing he had become the center of attention at the banquet. It was inevitable that he and the Morgan Family would be in the news tomorrow.
Shaking his head helplessly: "Since this young lady has misunderstood, it’s not appropriate for me to stay any longer."
"As for me and Mr. Morgan, it is not the kind of indecent, shameful relationship you’ve spoken of."
After explaining a few sentences, she ignored the person who was going crazy behind her and got up to leave.
Upstairs, Jasper Sinclair watched Nora leave, feeling slightly relieved.
This guy Vincent dared to make plans involving him, just the thought made him angry.
He raised his wine glass, watching as Nora almost reached the door, suddenly bumping into Wendy Bell, causing her to halt for some reason.
The next moment, to everyone’s shock, Wendy pointed in his direction for unknown reasons.
Jasper reacted swiftly, disappearing in a flash.
Downstairs, Nora was dazed by the woman in front of her.
The necklace she wore around her neck stung Nora’s eyes, leaving her standing vacantly, only hearing Wendy say someone upstairs was waiting for her before intending to leave.
Looking in the direction she pointed, there was no one upstairs.
She sighed, thinking she must be overthinking. If someone were there...
Just as she calmed herself, an unexpected scene unfolded upstairs.
