Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Not Interested in Her
Nora Northwood looked at Wendy Bell for a long time without speaking.
Seeing the candid look in her eyes, she thought perhaps she was overthinking it.
"In that case, sending a bouquet of yellow roses would be perfect," she recommended the appropriate flowers to Wendy Bell.
"I’ll take your advice, please wrap it for me."
As she was leaving, she made sure to add Nora as a friend, saying it would be convenient for buying flowers in the future.
Without suspicion, Nora added her and then instinctively glanced at her Moments.
It seemed that the other person had always had someone she liked, expressing her affection from top to bottom.
Until the most recent post, from the time they met at the restaurant last time.
"Haven’t seen him in years, didn’t expect the next meeting to be fighting alongside him, the contract negotiations went smoothly." She even added a heart sign at the end.
Her heart twinged, was she talking about Mr. Sinclair?
Somehow, after this thought, she was preoccupied the entire day.
When she got home in the evening, she had just unlocked the fingerprint lock when she heard the voice of Mr. Sinclair on the phone.
Not sure who he was talking to, but his tone was somewhat urgent, as if he was also a bit angry.
"Didn’t I say I’m not interested at all, staying at home is only because my grandmother likes it."
He probably didn’t realize she was back, carrying a coffee cup, he returned to the study.
Because of the matter in the morning, she instinctively felt he was talking about her.
Nora walked into the room in a daze, his words just now felt like a knife stabbing into her heart.
Is he really not interested in her at all? Could she be so unappealing?
She originally wanted to ask Mr. Sinclair about his relationship with that girl, but now it seemed unnecessary.
In the study, Jasper Sinclair was feeling vexed.
"I think that vase is quite nice, if you don’t like it, sell it to me," Finn Linden chuckled.
"I wouldn’t dare, you know Grandma’s temper, she’d have my hide."
Jasper pouted; that ugly vase really didn’t fit his aesthetic, but when he moved in, his grandma insisted it would bring good luck.
If it weren’t for his grandma liking it, he would have thrown the ugly thing out long ago.
After some more idle chatter, they hung up the phone.
He stayed in the study handling some documents before heading to the living room.
By then, Nora had already prepared dinner. Seeing him come out, she nodded at him as a greeting.
He paused for a moment, feeling that the little one was not in a good mood today.
"What’s wrong?" he raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Nothing, Mr. Sinclair, please sit down, I’ll go serve the meal."
A cold, detached sentence, her voice lost its usual sweet, melodious tone, like that of an oriole. He scratched his head, feeling bewildered.
"Running into trouble with business?" he asked unnecessarily.
"No, why do you ask?" Nora glanced back at him, then turned her head away, ignoring him.
Back and forth, Jasper also got upset, and the two of them ended up silently competing against each other without speaking.
Returning to the bedroom, Nora kept thinking about Mr. Sinclair’s words.
She originally thought that in her lifetime, after hardships, living peacefully with Mr. Sinclair would be enough.
But it turned out, in the end, she was being overly sentimental.
Was she kept around just because his grandmother liked her? Feeling somewhat dejected, she lowered her head, once again tasting the bitterness of heartbreak.
With a deep breath, "Whatever, Nora, you need to pull yourself together, what you need to do now is make money to pay off debts!"
She patted her cheeks, her eyes filled with determination as she spoke.
Silly love and romance, step aside! This life, Nora Northwood was going to earn lots and lots of money!
