Chapter 80: The Price of a Stubborn Mouth

Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The Price of a Stubborn Mouth

"It’s alright, I’m just relieved to see you’re safe." Aaron Lowell said deliberately, even though his back was burning with pain.

Out of guilt, Nora Northwood decided to stay in the hospital to take care of him until he was discharged.

Jasper Sinclair listened to his wife on the phone saying she wanted to take care of another man, and his face instantly clouded over.

He pursed his lips, feeling somewhat displeased, but still managed to last until the meeting ended.

"If anything, call me." He instructed briefly, then got up and left. He was determined to see what kind of tricks Aaron Lowell was up to.

Driving to the hospital, he asked the nurse which room Aaron Lowell was in and headed there.

Nora Northwood was momentarily taken aback when she saw him, "Why are you here?"

Despite saying she’d take care of him, she still remembered she was married, and only helped him with water and peeling apples.

Most of the time, she sat aside busy with her own affairs.

Seeing that the two weren’t forming any close contact, he finally let out a slight sigh of relief, but Aaron Lowell on the bed wasn’t too pleased to see him.

"What’s Mr. Sinclair doing here?" His tone was somewhat unfriendly.

But Nora Northwood was taken aback, "Uncle, do you know each other?"

She hadn’t introduced them, how did Uncle know Jasper Sinclair?

Both men stiffened simultaneously, and after clearing his throat lightly, Jasper Sinclair slowly spoke, "The company had some business dealings with Oceanic Inc. before, met a few times."

Nora thought about it and that made sense, seeing the two behaving like rivals, she just assumed it was because of business dealings, never considering it was because of her that this scene unfolded.

"Nora, I’m a bit thirsty, could you buy me a bottle of water?" Jasper Sinclair decided to send her away.

He usually called her Nora Northwood, calling her like this today was a first.

Blushing, she nodded and went out to buy water.

Only the two men were left in the room, Jasper Sinclair stopped pretending, glaring coldly at Aaron Lowell, "What do you mean by this? Using people’s sympathy?"

Feeling smug, Aaron Lowell raised his brows, it didn’t matter what means he used, as long as it worked.

"What do I mean, since President Sinclair knows, why bother asking?" He looked provocatively at Jasper Sinclair.

The two men exchanged displeased glances, neither willing to back down, but compared to Aaron Lowell, Jasper Sinclair remained more composed.

Just as they were speaking, Aaron Lowell noticed a shadow approaching from outside the door, felt delighted, and deliberately coughed to say:

"Mr. Sinclair has such a big reaction, is he jealous?"

Jasper Sinclair felt his pride hurt by the insinuation.

Him, jealous? He was just there to check on the woman, lest she be deceived!

"Jealous of what?" He sneered, "If everyone made me jealous, I might just die of acidity."

"Oh? So Mr. Sinclair’s feelings for Nora are like that?"

Not noticing the flash of slyness in Aaron Lowell’s eyes, Jasper Sinclair persisted in his stubbornness, "For so many years, I’ve never known what liking even means, President Lowell must be mistaken."

With a click.

The noise outside also caught Jasper Sinclair’s attention, turning his head, he saw the hurt in Nora Northwood’s eyes.

He cursed inwardly, realizing trouble, he looked coldly at the man on the bed, looking content, "You did this on purpose?"

Shrugging innocently, Aaron Lowell looked at him, "I haven’t said anything, weren’t those Mr. Sinclair’s own words?"

For the first time, Jasper Sinclair felt a little flustered, trying to step forward to explain himself, only for Nora Northwood to place the water she bought in his hand, then got up and went to the bedside, completely ignoring him.

"Mr. Sinclair should go back." She spoke softly, she had to head to the flower shop soon.

Right now, all she wanted was to calm down.
