Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Related to the Sinclair Family
Around the worry that Nora might become suspicious: "Hmm, our boss is pretty good, didn’t really give me a hard time."
He said vaguely.
Nora brought the soup to him, he tasted it and found the flavor quite nice. Rarely, he felt his appetite open up and drank a little more.
As he was drinking, she suddenly asked across the table: "Today, Lily and I went to the party, heard today the Sinclair family’s person in charge also went, did you see him?"
She was just casually chatting about something, who knew that when Jasper heard her mentioning this topic, he suddenly felt a chill all around him.
"Why, are you interested in him?"
Could it be that this woman knows something and is testing him?
Thinking of this made him even more displeased, indeed she’s someone with schemes!
"It’s not really interest, just thinking since both of you have the last name Sinclair and appeared at the same party, it’s purely curiosity." Nora didn’t notice the oddity in his tone, still speaking to herself: "Honestly, I’ve been really curious from what I heard those people say."
"Curious about what?" He squinted his eyes and asked.
"Of course curious about what he looks like, I saw that back figure, seemed quite young, if not for the suit he was wearing looking so high-class, I almost mistook him for you." She covered her mouth and laughed lightly, as if laughing at herself: "Just hearing everyone around talking about him made me curious."
She waved her hand, mentioning this topic was indeed unintentional.
Since they are married, they can’t always be cold, they need to slowly understand and ease the relationship.
Knowing he also went to the party, she found a common topic to chat about.
"Really? Someone as insignificant as me definitely wouldn’t meet President Sinclair."
He licked his lips, naturally, she couldn’t see, he had Louis Hayes buy him a cheap suit earlier.
If it weren’t for hiding his identity, he certainly wouldn’t wear it, the fabric was uncomfortable and always crumpled.
"But all of you have the last name Sinclair, is there any family relation?" She said jokingly, but didn’t notice the man’s face falling in front of her.
Jasper scrutinized her for a moment, slim and fair fingers lightly stroking the spoon on the table.
In his phoenix eyes, mixed with various emotions, was an overall displeasure.
"Hardly any family relation at all." He said casually.
Originally thought that upon hearing this Nora would be somewhat disappointed, unexpectedly Nora just smiled and nodded, without any special expression.
"I thought so too, we are all just ordinary people, if it were that kind of big family, it would be really uncomfortable."
She breathed a sigh of relief, speaking in a light tone so nobody would hear any discontent.
Nose rubbing, Jasper didn’t dare to respond much.
The soup was almost finished, he got up to rest in the room.
Just as he got up, he was called back: "Oh, my mom and stepfather want to meet your family this weekend, if it’s inconvenient..."
She bit her lower lip with her teeth, really not wanting Quentin Ford to once again intrude in her life.
But her mother always insisted, and she couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
Seeing her reaction, Jasper didn’t know what she really thought, he pondered for a moment and then nodded.
"Since that’s the case, let’s do it Saturday, Grandma isn’t very well, I’ll ask if Aunt can come." He glanced at his phone.
Nora breathed a sigh of relief, worried Mr. Sinclair wouldn’t agree.
