Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Do You Have Evidence?
During the dinner, it was mostly Lily and Nora Northwood chatting.
Meanwhile, Jasper Sinclair quietly dined on his own.
He didn’t eat much, mainly because he wasn’t accustomed to the food, but he didn’t dislike this kind of atmosphere.
After the meal, Nora Northwood escorted Lily Sloan out of the neighborhood.
"Alright, you don’t need to see me off. I’ve already called my little uncle to pick me up." She waved her hand.
It was already dark, and she didn’t want Nora to walk out too far.
"Okay, let me know when you get home." Nora waved back, sharply noticing Aaron Lowell’s car arriving, she nodded and smiled in greeting.
Seeing Lily get into the car, she finally turned around and went home.
In the car, Aaron Lowell looked in the direction of Nora for a long time without snapping out of his daze.
How could Nora be living here? His brow furrowed with some tightness.
"Little uncle?" Lily had to call him several times to bring him back to reality.
His narrow eyes masked his emotions, reverting to his usual calm.
"Did I just see Nora Northwood? Does she live here? I recall the Ford Family isn’t in this area." He probed.
Lily Sloan nodded, completely unaware of her uncle’s unease: "Yes, she’s already married. Her husband lives here."
Married?
Aaron Lowell suddenly slammed on the brakes, catching Lily Sloan off guard, causing her to lurch forward.
"Ouch!" She gasped, feeling as if her head was about to fall off from the jolt. What was going on with her uncle?
But before she could ask further, Aaron Lowell frowned, his eyes carrying disbelief: "What did you just say? Nora Northwood is married?"
He seemed to have heard something unbelievably shocking.
Could it be she really got a marriage certificate with that Quinn Family guy?
Lily Sloan was stunned; why was her uncle so agitated?
"Yes, she recently got the marriage certificate. Uncle, why are you so concerned about this?"
Aaron Lowell abruptly regained his composure: "Nothing, she’s someone you grew up with, whom I also watched grow up, naturally I’d have some concerns."
His lips pressed tightly, he didn’t speak the truth.
He couldn’t admit that he had liked Nora Northwood since before, couldn’t expose his own dirty thoughts.
In the past, he was afraid Nora would distance herself from him if she found out.
Later, he heard she was with that guy from the Quinn Family and felt reluctant, but he reassured himself knowing the Quinn Family surely wouldn’t approve of this marriage.
Lily Sloan didn’t think much of it, just thought her uncle looked at Nora Northwood the same way he looked at her.
She simply spoke her mind.
"If you ask me, it’s good she didn’t marry Scum Quinn, otherwise, I’d climb to the Quinn Family and beat everyone up!"
She spoke indignantly while Aaron Lowell caught the crucial point: "You said Nora didn’t marry Christian Quinn?"
"Yes." She nodded, recounting the circumstances of Nora’s wedding, and couldn’t resist adding a tease: "Knowing this, I should’ve let you and Nora get the certificate, you’re both familiar face."
Eighteen thousand eight hundred, her family could afford it, and her uncle had watched them grow up.
Aaron Lowell took it seriously, his eyes darkening. Yes, why wasn’t it him given the chance?
But upon thinking further, since Nora married for the sake of those eighteen thousand eight hundred, did it mean she didn’t quite like that person?
At this, his mood eased a bit, perhaps he still had a chance.
Previously, he overthought and missed the opportunity, but that wouldn’t happen anymore.
