Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Tide Turns
Christian Quinn raised his head, and looked triumphantly at the stunned woman in front of him.
The face he used to be infatuated with was now pale, and he felt a great sense of satisfaction; she never took him seriously!
He wanted to speak again, but the next second, someone suddenly appeared and kicked him.
The kick was so strong it sent him flying into some bushes nearby.
"Ouch, who was that?" He stood up, grimacing and cursing, "If I find out who did it, I’ll definitely..."
"Definitely what? Do you think you can turn the tables, you worthless toad?" a woman’s scornful voice rang out, causing the surrounding spectators to clap in amusement.
Just a moment ago, someone already wanted to step out and teach this man a lesson.
Not far away, Jasper Sinclair noticed Annie’s form and frowned, slipping into the unit door.
It was not a good idea to go out right now, so he called the property management, explaining the situation and specifically instructed them not to reveal his identity.
A short while after he hung up, the property management personnel arrived, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Who are you calling a toad!" Christian Quinn, without seeing who it was, angrily started to retort.
But once he saw it was The Anson Family, he instantly lost his temper; as a minor manager who had encountered some inner circles, he naturally understood their status.
He wouldn’t dare to confront Annie.
All he could do was inwardly curse Nora Northwood; it was all her fault!
"Thank you, but you don’t need to pay him any attention." Nora, feeling a bit worried, pulled Annie aside. She was touched yet concerned Christian might hold a grudge against the girl.
Annie, of course, saw her thoughts, and patted her hand, "Don’t worry, he really doesn’t have the guts to mess with me."
With her long, wavy hair pulled up, she raised her chin and looked disdainfully at Christian lying on the ground.
The property manager nearby squeezed in, "What’s going on? Are you a resident here? How did you get in?"
Looking at Christian, the manager frowned and began questioning; seeing he wasn’t from the neighborhood, they quickly restrained him and planned to throw him out.
Annie wasn’t done berating him, but Nora held her hand back, "Let it go, that kind of person is nauseating, and once you’re involved, it’s hard to shake off."
Hearing this, Annie didn’t say anything further.
The farce ended, and the spectators gradually dispersed in small groups.
Looking at the beauty beside her, Annie couldn’t help but sigh, "Honestly, how did you get tangled up with such scum? All he does is spread rumors!"
The more she spoke, the angrier she became, wishing she could drag Christian back and tear him apart!
Originally, she came here to vent to a friend, but then encountered someone with no sense.
Seeing the girl’s pouty face beside her, Nora burst into laughter.
The earlier gloom vanished entirely.
"That’s right, it’s better to laugh." Noticing it was getting late, Annie pulled out her phone, "I love making friends with beauties; let’s share contacts so we can get to know each other!"
Nora nodded with a smile, took out her phone, and exchanged contact details with her.
She didn’t expect to meet such an interesting friend, and even after Annie left, she was still a bit stunned.
Returning upstairs, Jasper Sinclair seemed unaware of the commotion below.
"Why did it take you so long to come up?" he asked casually.
"Oh, I just met an interesting girl," she replied with a smile, intending to head to the kitchen to tidy up, but found everything already cleaned: "Eh? Did Mr. Sinclair tidy up earlier?"
