Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Another Close Encounter with Their Identities
"I’m leaving now." Jasper Sinclair pressed his thin lips together.
Just as he was about to step out, he heard Nora Northwood quietly say, "I was just mentioning it casually, forget it, pretend I didn’t say anything."
With that, she turned around and went back inside.
Perhaps Mr. Sinclair still can’t accept their relationship for the time being. They’ll see how it goes; if he truly can’t accept it, when the contract ends, they can repay the money and go their separate ways.
It was originally agreed upon from the start.
He felt very agitated, and when he left, he slammed the door loudly.
Getting into the car, Louis Hayes was puzzled about why President Sinclair was in such a bad mood today.
"You will join me at tonight’s banquet." Jasper Sinclair spoke mildly while focused on his work tasks.
Louis Hayes quickly nodded, not daring to say anything else.
"By the way, the information about the person you asked me to investigate has been sent to your email."
Jasper Sinclair did not respond, just opened his tablet and checked the email; all the details about Aaron Lowell were there.
He briefly skimmed through and, after reading, scoffed without thinking much of it.
He’s just a small-time entrepreneur, with a scale that can’t even compete with a subsidiary of the Sinclair Family.
It was just unexpected that Nora Northwood would have so many suitors.
"Really underestimated this woman." With a sneer, he closed the page.
Inside the flower shop.
Lily Sloan looked at the orders in front of her with a face full of worry.
"Should we take this order or not... it’s really too big, the two of us definitely can’t finish it."
"Of course we take it, why not make money." She wiped the sweat off her face and buried herself in work.
"Exactly, it’s an order from The Sinclair Group, surely they won’t owe us money, might even get a chance to see what the head of the Sinclair Family looks like."
With a smile, they accepted the order and got busy.
Apparently, the flowers were needed for tonight’s banquet, so they couldn’t slack off.
Working non-stop until afternoon, they finally finished the order and drove the flowers to The Sinclair Group.
As luck would have it, while they were moving the flowers in, Jasper Sinclair came to inspect the venue.
He didn’t spot Nora Northwood, just noted the venue was nicely set up and told the person in charge to give some extra tips.
The person in charge nodded with a smile, secretly calculating in his mind.
And so, Lily Sloan and Nora Northwood only caught a glimpse of a back figure.
"Hey, Nora, why do I feel that person’s back looks so much like your husband?" She frowned, staring at the direction Jasper Sinclair had disappeared to.
"Don’t talk nonsense, he’s a big boss, how would I know him, plenty of people with similar backs in this world." Nora Northwood pinched her nose.
Lily Sloan thought it made sense and, smiling, got up with her friend to go ask for the money.
Who would’ve thought that when the money was given, although it was supposed to be three thousand dollars, the other side forcibly reduced it by one thousand.
"It was clearly stated on the order as three thousand, we’ve set everything up, why are you giving so much less now?" Lily Sloan’s eyes nearly popped out.
Such a large enterprise like The Sinclair Group even pulls off these kinds of stunts!
Nora Northwood also frowned, not knowing what was happening.
"This is a fixed price item, how can you arbitrarily change the price?"
The person in charge snorted, "If you’re upset, go ahead and make a fuss. See if anyone else wants your flowers afterward. Stir up trouble with The Sinclair Group and you two won’t be able to get by."
Lily Sloan wanted to curse something, but Nora Northwood knew that what he said was reality.
Both being ordinary girls without power or influence, they can’t risk outright confrontation as retaliation from the other side; even if not for herself, she has to consider Lily.
She sighed, unable to accept but having no choice but to accept.
