Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Go Retrieve Everything
"Right, right, I’ve never seen three million before, it’s truly shocking. A watch is worth that much?"
Spencer Ford swallowed hard, asking in disbelief.
That broken thing doesn’t seem special at all; he truly can’t understand the lifestyle of the wealthy.
The problem now is that he already sold it, and even though he got fifty thousand, he had spent all of that fifty thousand.
He didn’t notice Jasper Sinclair and Nora Northwood sharing a knowing glance and a silent smile.
They ignored him and walked into the study, but in the next moment, the sound of rummaging around could be heard from inside.
"Where’s your crystal brooch?"
Sold for five thousand... Spencer Ford said silently in his heart.
Who knew that broken glass was crystal? Now that it’s mentioned, it surely wasn’t cheap.
"And the pearwood hairpin you gave me?"
Also sold... for only two hundred yuan. The buyer said it was just worthless wood, not worth much, but seeing him as a kid, they gave it to him like pocket money.
Looking at it that way, these people clearly knew what these things were worth!
May Lawrence noticed something wrong with him, opened her mouth but didn’t have time to ask anything before the room descended into chaos.
"Jasper, did a thief break into the house?" Nora’s tone was somewhat shocked, and she muttered again, "With such good community security, how could a thief get in?"
She furrowed her brow, leaning against Jasper Sinclair in confusion.
But in reality, it was this man’s restless hand on her waist, making her extremely uncomfortable.
She glared at him playfully, making him feel a ticklish urge in his heart.
If they didn’t have serious things to handle, he would have carried her to the room right away!
Just after she finished speaking, Spencer Ford couldn’t take it: "Nora, who are you calling a thief?"
"I never said it was you." Her expression was somewhat surprised, staring at him with undeniable confusion.
This left Spencer Ford bewildered. Being young and guilty made him uneasy and unable to sit still.
"But, but there are only two outsiders here, me and May. She’s your mom, you couldn’t be talking about her, it must be me then?"
He stiffened his neck, thinking that this would at least lessen others’ suspicion of him.
Jasper Sinclair didn’t miss the opportunity to chime in, "We just suspect Mrs. Walker might have taken it. Since you mention it, we can only call the police to prove your innocence."
This made Spencer Ford even more flustered, he had no innocence at all! He was the one who sold those things.
He opened his mouth, wanting to tell Jasper not to call the police, but he knew this would reveal his secret, leaving him in a dilemma.
For the time being, the matter came to a halt, leaving him in a state of panic.
His mind in a daze, he thought about how to quickly retrieve the items.
So early next morning, he left the house stealthily while everyone else was still asleep, heading to the shops where he had sold the items.
Jasper Sinclair listened to Sid’s report, simply said "Got it," but showed no intention to get up.
Watching the little woman sleeping beside him, he unconsciously swallowed hard.
His large hand glided over her slender waist; originally, he just wanted to satiate a craving.
But who knew her soft hum in her sleep would ignite a fire in him, making him unable to control himself.
Nora Northwood was eventually woken up forcefully, and yet the man still wasn’t satisfied, tormenting her over and over.
She had planned to rest well at home today, but instead ended up even more exhausted.
