Chapter 224: Law Firm

Chapter 224: Chapter 224: Law Firm

"President Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair, please have a seat."

Then, the three sat facing each other.

Jasper Sinclair broke the tense atmosphere with a sentence, "Making this so formal, anyone who doesn’t know would think you’re really serious."

"Can’t I pretend for a moment?" Lawyer Shepherd withdrew his gaze in dissatisfaction, and then extended his hand to Nora Northwood, "Hello, sister-in-law. I’m the main person in charge of this firm, just call me Young Lawyer Shepherd."

Nora Northwood straightened her back and briefly shook his hand, "Hello, Lawyer Shepherd, I’m Nora Northwood."

"The founder of VK Fragrance, I’ve heard about you. Jasper has already explained your situation to me." As Lawyer Shepherd spoke, he opened the drawer on the bottom left.

Immediately, a document was placed in front of the few people.

"Regarding the case against Rachel Woodward, we can prosecute her. This is the specific plan and process. Sister-in-law, you can have a general look first."

Lawyer Shepherd called her sister-in-law repeatedly, which Nora Northwood wasn’t quite used to. After all, his appearance seemed a few years older than her.

She lowered her eyes and simply went through the content included in the document.

A few minutes later, Nora Northwood hesitated slightly, "Can the execution time be delayed by a few days?"

Although Lawyer Shepherd didn’t understand her meaning, he nodded in agreement, "No problem, the specific time can be decided on your end."

Jasper Sinclair also didn’t quite understand and directly asked, "Do you have other concerns?"

"Based on my understanding of Rachel Woodward, she won’t give up easily. I’m worried she might have more to come, so I’d like to wait a bit."

Jasper Sinclair watched her lips move with an inexplicable feeling.

He didn’t know when it started, but she had more and more considerations, no longer the little girl led around by others.

While they were discussing the next step in strategy, Rachel Woodward wasn’t idle.

She appeared in a rundown urban village, the mixed smell of fish made her repeatedly nauseous.

"How can Stanton City still have such dirty and messy neighborhoods?" Rachel Woodward covered her mouth and nose, trying not to inhale the strange odors.

Her driver behind her looked full of disdain.

"Miss Woodward, who on earth requires you to come to a place like this to meet?"

Thinking of the person she was about to see, Rachel Woodward suppressed her disgust and quickened her pace.

She didn’t answer but instead retorted, "Have you prepared everything I asked you to?"

"It’s prepared."

Rachel Woodward walked while paying attention to the signs by the street.

"No. 79, East Second Square." She saw the sign and, excited, forgot about the mess around here, then said to the person behind her, "It’s this building, on the seventh floor, room 701."

The driver couldn’t figure out his lady’s thoughts but could only comply with her instructions obediently.

The staircase, not exposed to daylight, occasionally emitted a sour scent.

By the time the two reached the fifth floor, they were already worn out.

Rachel Woodward rested her elbow on the railing, muttering, "This place doesn’t even have an elevator."

After catching her breath, she led them to continue climbing up, "Just two more floors to go, hang in there."

Finally, the man and woman paused in front of a green iron door.

Rachel Woodward knocked on the iron door and shouted inside, "Is anyone there? Is anyone home?"

Soon, sounds came from May Lawrence inside, "Who is it?"

May Lawrence’s reply brought a glimmer of hope to Rachel Woodward.
