Chapter 172: If He Doesn’t Want to Eat, Then Let Him Not Eat

Chapter 172: Chapter 172: If He Doesn’t Want to Eat, Then Let Him Not Eat

"This five million, in Jasper Sinclair’s hands, could turn into multiple five million."

"But if it’s with you, do you think Quentin Ford would leave it for you? All he’ll do is gamble it away."

"What’s the point of claiming this five million? Yet you insist on taking it back for him."

Nora Northwood rolled her eyes at her, as if she didn’t know what kind of person Quentin Ford was? Another five million? To Quentin, that’s just an afternoon’s worth.

May Lawrence didn’t say any more, seemingly realizing that she was right.

But she was unwilling to get nothing out of it.

In the kitchen, Mrs. Walker was furious after hearing these words. How could a mother scheme against her own daughter like this?

"But Nora, look at the grievance Spencer has suffered—this is our own family, how could he be bullied like this?"

"Who’s bullying him? Mom, if you keep spoiling him like this, it will be your fault when something goes wrong in the future." Nora stood up, not wanting to listen to her anymore.

Their mother-daughter bond couldn’t even compare to Spencer Ford; what more was there to say?

May Lawrence opened her mouth as if to say something, but Nora had already gotten up to rest in her room.

In the evening when Jasper Sinclair returned, Mrs. Walker recounted the afternoon’s conversation.

As for Spencer Ford, since coming home from school, he had locked himself in his room.

Those unaware might think he was upset and sulking, but Jasper Sinclair had already installed surveillance at home.

A quick check revealed the kid was hiding in his room playing games.

With a cold snort, when it was time for dinner, he went to call Nora. As for Spencer Ford, he didn’t bother.

May Lawrence knocked on the door, intending to tell him it was time to eat and to stop playing, but in the next second, Spencer Ford burst out cursing.

"Old hag, don’t you dare! If I lose this game, it’s your fault."

May’s heart skipped a beat, feeling extremely aggrieved after being cursed out.

She turned back to the living room, only to find that most of the dishes were almost eaten.

"Nora, Spencer hasn’t eaten yet, how could you..."

She wanted to criticize Nora for eating all the food, but suddenly realized that Jasper had eaten as well.

She swallowed her words.

"If he doesn’t want to eat, then let him go hungry. It’s not like he wasn’t called for dinner."

Elegant and poised, Jasper wiped his mouth, now looking at May Lawrence with anything but a pleasant expression.

What had this woman said to Nora? It’s fine to ask for money—he’s willing to give Nora any amount, but it’s a pity his wife doesn’t want it when he insists on giving her money.

The only option left is for him to buy things for her.

As for May’s words, he thought this woman was quite clueless. Wanting his money? She needed to see if she had the ability to spend it.

When Spencer Ford finished his game and came out for dinner, the table was already cleared.

"Where’s my dinner?" He couldn’t believe his eyes, looking at Nora Northwood and Jasper Sinclair.

"I called you but you didn’t come to eat. I thought you didn’t want to, so I had it cleared." Jasper hugged Nora at his side, watching TV while feeding her fruit.

Spencer was dumbfounded; he hadn’t even touched his chopsticks. There was one less person at the dinner table—didn’t any of them notice?

May Lawrence pulled him aside, shaking her head, indicating it wouldn’t be wise to provoke Jasper Sinclair now.

"I saved you some food; have a bite to fill your stomach. Don’t do this tomorrow."

He felt unhappy; how could he eat someone else’s leftovers? But upon reconsideration, if he didn’t eat, he’d go hungry tonight.

Grudgingly, he went to the kitchen, staring at the plate of assorted leftovers with even more dismay.
