Chapter 174: Chapter 174: What Kind of Brother Is That?
Nora’s current attitude set off alarms for May Lawrence. If this girl gradually broke free from her control and couldn’t return the money, Quentin Ford would definitely not spare her.
"Nora, listen to what you’re saying. After all, Spencer is your brother, and besides, your uncle’s business hasn’t been doing well lately, and he’s lost all his money. You should at least give him some, right? You can’t let the child go hungry." May frantically signaled at Nora.
Unfortunately, Nora saw it but remained indifferent.
May had exhausted their mother-daughter relationship time and again, and this time she went too far, not even caring if she lived or died.
Nora was no longer the little girl who needed her mother’s love. Over the years, she gradually let go.
She wanted to say something, but Jasper Sinclair picked her up, his eyes filled with indifference.
"What kind of brother? Is there any blood relation? I’ve never heard of such a thing in a family as big as the Sinclairs."
Doing business? What kind of business could Quentin Ford possibly do looking like that? Jasper sneered, and looked at May with mockery.
"Jasper, Nora is spoiled by me, don’t listen to her..."
"Oh? I’d love to hear how you spoiled my wife." If May hadn’t said this, he wouldn’t be angry, but the more she said, the more uncomfortable he felt.
What kind of life had Nora led in the Ford Family? How could May even have the audacity to say something like this?
At a loss for words, May awkwardly returned to where she was.
Spencer also realized that he wouldn’t get any money today; the thoughts in his mind were a bit unclear before, but now they were firm.
If they wouldn’t give him money voluntarily, then they couldn’t blame him for finding his own ways.
He let out a sinister laugh, with a calculating look that didn’t belong to someone his age.
Jasper noticed but didn’t bother to care. What good child could possibly come from a rat in the gutter?
He carried Nora back to the bedroom. As soon as they entered, he couldn’t wait to lay her down on the big bed.
"What are you doing? It’s not even nighttime yet." She blushed and punched him lightly.
"An hour in the spring night is worth a thousand in gold. Wife, you tempt me but won’t help, you’re truly wicked." He mumbled, rubbing his head against her chest.
"When did I tempt you!" Nora cried out in grievance. She had no idea she did any such thing.
The next second, Jasper said something shocking: "Just now on the sofa, didn’t you look at me?"
"?" Her eyes widened considerably; this guy was really good at turning tables. Was that tempting? She was just trying to talk, alright!
She looked rather speechlessly at the man before her, but he didn’t care and pounced directly.
She pushed him a few times but couldn’t fight him off, eventually blushing and stopping her refusal.
The big bed shook, and the room was filled with warmth. Thankfully, the room’s soundproofing was excellent, or everyone in the living room would have heard the intense activities inside.
Only when Nora couldn’t hold on anymore did Jasper end the ’battle’ contentedly.
He cuddled her slender body in bed for a while longer.
She uncomfortably pushed him away: "I feel awful, all sticky."
She complained, but her body was too exhausted to even get up and take a shower.
Jasper kindly carried her to the bathroom, but of course, he couldn’t hold back and teased Nora in the bathroom for quite some time.
Later, her body went limp, and she was so tired she couldn’t open her eyes, unable to muster the strength to scold him.
She didn’t even know how she got back to bed afterward, but when she fell asleep, Jasper could still hear her calling him inhuman in her dreams.
