Chapter 114: Kiki Jennings’ Fear

Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Kiki Jennings’ Fear

"Hello, Auntie Chamberlain, I returned from France a few days ago, and I even went to Wellbright Kindergarten to pick up Ian after school." Kiki seemed to have forgotten the incident when the little boy refused her entry into the car that day. Her face was adorned with a sweet smile that anyone could find pleasing to behold.

"Oh, by the way, has Ian’s illness flared up again? I’ll call Leon right now." The smile vanished from Kiki’s face, replaced with worry. She pulled her phone out of her expensive pink handbag.

"Yes, yes, young master Ian came home in a huge temper. He refused to eat and flipped over all the food on the dining table. He even ran upstairs and locked himself in his room."

Auntie Chamberlain’s eyes turned red immediately, looking extremely distressed as tears began to fall. She continued speaking.

"Young master Ian was perfectly fine before today. I wonder if he was bullied at the kindergarten? Is that why he’s in such a bad mood today? If I find out who that vile person is who bullied young master Ian, I will definitely call Madame Kane and have that wretched little brat expelled."

Kiki listened to Auntie Chamberlain’s words intently as she dialed Leon Keane’s phone: "Leon, you need to come back quickly. Ian’s illness has flared up again."

Leon Keane’s handsome face suddenly darkened. He checked his watch, noting that there was only half an hour left before a meeting.

Just then, Secretary Sullivan entered to deliver some documents.

"Give me these documents tomorrow. Cancel today’s meeting. I have something important and need to go back," Leon said, striding out of the president’s office.

The Kane family’s old mansion.

Kiki stood beside Auntie Chamberlain, reaching out to hug Auntie Chamberlain’s shoulder to comfort her: "Auntie Chamberlain, don’t worry. I know you’ve always taken care of Ian diligently, and you have deep feelings for him. But worrying won’t solve Ian’s current problem. We need to wait for Leon to return; he’s Ian’s daddy, and he’ll know how to handle it."

Auntie Chamberlain nodded and wiped away her tears. She was tired of putting on a crying act; she didn’t want to cry but forced herself to think of sad things to squeeze out the tears.

Auntie Chamberlain squeezed Kiki’s hand: "Miss Jennings, you are the most kind-hearted girl in the world. If President Kane could marry a gentle, kind, and virtuous girl like you, that would be wonderful."

"Then young master Ian wouldn’t be scolded as a pitiful child without a mommy..."

Kiki’s pretty cheeks turned red with pride. Auntie Chamberlain was easy to deceive; in France, she used small favors to win Auntie Chamberlain over, who would tell her everything. While abroad, Auntie Chamberlain often spoke well of her to Madame Kane.

Hearing that Ian was scolded for not having a mommy, Kiki’s face immediately feigned anger: "Auntie Chamberlain, tell me, who is so uncivilized and stupid to hit Ian where it hurts?"

Auntie Chamberlain had heard from Madame Kane that Ian’s biological mother died during childbirth. To prevent Ian from longing too much for his mother, Madame Kane told Ian his biological mother ran away with another man after giving birth to him, abandoning Ian.

Auntie Chamberlain shared this information with Kiki as well.

Although Kiki didn’t agree with Madame Kane’s approach, the latter successfully made Ian resent his biological mother and see Madame Kane as the closest grandmother in the world.

Kiki looked down on Madame Kane’s tactics, squabbling even with the dead for jealousy was truly too much.

Luckily, Madame Kane placed all her attention on Ian, not being as possessive towards Leon. She mollified Ian simply to earn his approval, ensuring she wouldn’t become an obstacle in Kiki’s marriage to Leon.

Once she marries Leon, she’ll have her own children, Ian can be doted upon by Madame Kane, that’s all she wants: Leon and her children.

"The uncivilized brat is called Timmy Monroe," Auntie Chamberlain whispered to Kiki, "Miss Jennings, you might not know, but recently, there’s this Ivana Monroe trying to seduce President Kane. Her son is even more ambitious, pretending to be obedient and understanding before President Kane, but behind the scenes, he abuses young master Ian and even wants to drive him out, taking his place as the young master of the Kanes."

"Timmy Monroe, Ivana Monroe?" Kiki gritted her teeth, her face clouded, "I saw that Ivana on the night of my return at a gala, she was there as Leon’s companion."

"What? Companion?" Auntie Chamberlain suddenly understood. No wonder, how did Ivana manage to hook up with President Kane? Now it all makes sense.

"Yes." Kiki nodded forcefully.

"Hmph, Madame Kane will be in Ravenswood soon. She absolutely will not allow a woman who acts like a prostitute and her son to enter the Kane family’s old mansion."

Upon hearing this, Kiki smiled coldly. Madame Kane despised the term "companion" the most; back when Mr. Kane was alive, "companion" was the most frequent word in his scandalous exploits.

Moreover, every "companion" employed every tactic imaginable to use their body to climb the ranks but ultimately couldn’t surpass the legitimate wife... Madame Kane.

"By the way, Miss Jennings, never tell President Kane about what I’ve said today." Auntie Chamberlain whispered, "President Kane is very special towards that little brat Timmy Monroe. If you see that brat, you’ll understand; he resembles President Kane closely."

Kiki frowned, suddenly recalling seeing a little boy being led by Ivana at the entrance of Wellbright Kindergarten. Her eyes widened; could it be that what she saw wasn’t Ian but that brat Timmy Monroe?

"Auntie Chamberlain, tell me, does Timmy Monroe look exactly like Ian?"

"Yes, Miss Jennings, you’ve seen that brat?"

Kiki was struck like lightning; it turned out her guess was correct. Does this mean that brat born to the shameless Ivana... is Leon’s son?

Kiki’s pretty face turned pale, her fingers suddenly clutching tightly. Ivana was so shameless to have even borne Leon’s child, but what does it matter? Ian’s biological mother slept with Leon too, didn’t she? And she died?

She absolutely would not give up Leon, whom she had liked for so long, to any woman, including Ivana.

Madame Kane only needs to have Ian as her legitimate grandson born of some wild woman, and no need for an additional Timmy Monroe.

She must devise a plan to ensure Madame Kane never finds out about Timmy Monroe’s existence. Madame Kane’s love for her grandson is too intense. If she learns there’s another grandson who looks exactly like Ian, she’ll definitely want to have Timmy right by her side.

Kiki wasn’t worried that Madame Kane would accept Ivana. She feared Ivana might use Timmy to cling to Leon, complicating matters beyond just the notion of a "companion." The way Leon looks at Ivana gave Kiki a sense of crisis.

She was afraid Leon might truly marry that shameless Ivana because of Timmy Monroe.
